Lauren Olson is in constant pursuit of an artful life, renewing her sense of whimsy, and expressing gratitude for the magic of the everyday. Her work focuses primarily at the intersection of artful and playful, with a focus on functional and sustainable art. Her primary mediums include natural fibers, recycled materials, digital illustration, and mixed media. She is in constant awe of the innate wonder of the children she worked with as a public school teacher. This wonder informs not only her process but also often her intended audience. She has spent the last 5 years creating illustrations for folk song activities and song books–a subject she is also passionate about. She lives a cozy life with her family, tucked in against the Utah mountains–yet another never-ending source of inspiration.
